The Philosophy

Kinessage® Massage Through Movement came into being to answer clients' need for effective therapy
that is also comfortable to receive. Yes, deep work is often effective.  That's why people sometimes
choose to endure discomfort if they think their greater pain will be diminished later.  But what if you could
receive effective therapy that is also kind?  Therapy that feels good while you're receiving it, and relieves
your pain and increases comfortable movement in your body?

If you agree that massage should feel good AND be effective, you've found the right therapy.  Kinessage® is
therapeutic work without the "beat 'em up" mentality.  It will help you reclaim and maintain pain free,
optimum function and movement so you can enjoy the things you love to do in life!

The Science

The body is designed to move, and the health of all our systems (us!) is dependent upon it. Correct
function of each segment of the kinetic chain - nervous, muscular, and skeletal systems is required for
optimum movement of the body as a whole.

Kinessage® takes advantage of our design by using each element of the kinetic chain to improve the
state of the whole chain.  It uses the feedback system between the central nervous system (brain and
spinal cord) and the peripheral nervous system (motor and sensory receptors in all tissue, tendons, and
joints) to release muscular and connective tissue constrictions and increase circulation, lymphatic drainage,
and range of motion.

Did you know that the role of pain receptors (callled "nociceptors") is to warn us when something is
causing/or is about to cause some kind of damage to tissue?  By gentle application, Kinessage® stays
under the nociceptor "radar". The effect is less discomfort to you and easier, more comfortable clearing of
the restrictions causing your pain or limited movement.
